Community & culture

Beyond the lesson

Learn Polish. Meet people.
Become part of the community

A language becomes more familiar when it has people, places and stories around it.

Students can meet Polish people, make friends and discover more of Melbourne’s Polish community. Along the way, they might find a Polish book or piece of media, hear about a local shop or resource, or learn about a community group from someone they have met through the school.

Students also share contemporary Polish music, recommending artists and songs as they discover more of Poland today. Conversations often extend into practical travel advice too, from places to stay and things to do to local experiences in Poland.

Some friendships continue outside class. The school creates the opportunity to connect, and students take those connections into the wider community in their own ways.
